Children Starting Year 3 in September 2019

On-time Year 3 places for September 2019 have now been allocated. We are running a number of transition sessions for our new parents and children and you will have received a letter from us if you were allocated a place.

There will be two opportunities for our new Year 3 children to spend the morning with us this term, these are:

Friday 21st June 9:00 – 10:30am

Thursday 4th July 9:00 – 11:30am

On the first visit, the children will meet current Year 3 and 4 pupils who will welcome them and show them around the school. On the second visit, they will meet their teacher and new classmates and spend time in their new classroom.

On these visits, there are various arrangements for the arrival and collection of children to our school as shown below:

On Friday 21st June:

Children from Cove Infant School will be escorted between schools by school staff so parents should take their children to the infant school at the normal time.

Children from all other infant schools will need to be dropped off and collected by parents. Please enter the school through the main school entrance via the office.

On Thursday 4th July:

All children should be brought to school by parents. Please enter through the main school entrance via the office.

Children from Cove Infant School will be escorted back to school by school staff so parents will not need to return to school.

Children from all other infant schools will need to be collected by parents so that they can return to their school. Please collect your child by coming to the school office.

If your child requires a school lunch on either of these days, please ensure that you book these with your infant school beforehand.

You are also invited to our New Parents’ Meeting on Tuesday 2nd July at 6.00pm in the school hall. During this meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s new class teacher; hear about the practical arrangements for September; and receive an Induction Pack which contains

information and paperwork relating to procedures at school (e.g. medical needs and home-school agreements).

If you are planning to make a late application to the school and would like to attend these sessions, please contact the School Office to confirm availability.
